Craig Wetjen – Managing Director | Photographer | Author | Educator
Originally from the USA, Craig Wetjen is an award-winning photographer, educator, and author with over 39 years of experience behind the camera. His work spans portraiture, storytelling, weddings, commercial photography, and high-level education.
Craig began his career at just 16, photographing for local newspapers, getting a degree in Photography, before going on to work with NASA. In 1996, he moved to Australia, where he became a pioneer in digital photography education at RMIT. His creative vision and technical excellence have earned him international acclaim.
In 2016, his best-selling book Men and Their Sheds brought national attention to men’s mental health, using powerful imagery to tell important personal stories.
Featured on The Project and Manspace TV, his work highlights the power of visual storytelling. Passionate about capturing authentic moments, Craig combines technical excellence, creativity, and a dedication to client experience. He has taught at leading institutions like RMIT, Photography Studies College, Swinburne, and Melbourne Polytechnic, and now offers hands-on workshops for all skill levels. Today, Craig continues to shape the industry as a mentor, national and international judge, and director of John Travers Photography and Parade Pics. He holds a BA in Photography with Honours, is a two-time AIPP Master Photographer, an AIPP Honorary Life Member.
Craig has won countless awards around the world his latest was in 2023 Australian Photographic Prize as a Portrait category finalist.
Elizabeth Burgess - Senior Retoucher & Studio Coordinator
Elizabeth brings extensive experience across the photography industry, with a diverse background spanning commercial advertising, weddings, portraiture, fine art reproduction and printing, real estate photography, and large-scale event photography. As Senior Retoucher and Production Coordinator at John Travers Photography, she oversees both the pre-production and post-production workflow, ensuring every project progresses seamlessly from planning through to final delivery.
With a passion for digital imaging that began at just ten years of age, Elizabeth has been using Adobe Photoshop professionally since she was seventeen. Her years of experience have developed an exceptional eye for detail and a refined approach to retouching. She believes the best editing is virtually invisible—enhancing each photograph naturally while preserving the authenticity and emotion of the original image.
Elizabeth is known for her collaborative nature, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality. Working closely with photographers and the production team, she takes pride in ensuring every image reflects the professionalism and excellence that John Travers Photography is renowned for.
Originally from Singapore, Elizabeth made Australia her home in the early 2010s and has embraced both the lifestyle and community ever since. Outside the studio, she enjoys spending time with her two young children, whose energy and curiosity ensure life is always full of adventure.
Daniel Berniard - Senior Photographer & Digital Editor
With more than 30 years of professional photography experience, Daniel Berniard brings exceptional expertise, creativity, and leadership to the John Travers Photography team.
Originally from Louisiana, USA, Daniel was recruited to Australia in 1990 by one of Melbourne's leading wedding photography studios, where he established an outstanding reputation for capturing timeless images and delivering exceptional client experiences. His career has encompassed thousands of weddings, portraits, and major events, giving him a remarkable ability to connect with people and capture genuine moments with confidence and precision.
Alongside his professional photography career, Daniel was a lecturer at the International College of Professional Photography from 1995 to 2005, mentoring the next generation of photographers and sharing his extensive technical knowledge and industry experience.
A respected leader within the Australian photographic community, Daniel served on the Victorian Council of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and was honoured to serve as Victorian State President in 2012, reflecting his commitment to advancing professional standards across the industry.
Daniel joined John Travers Photography in 2012 and has become an integral member of the team. Today, he photographs graduations, debutante balls, school formals, dance events, sports teams, and a wide range of special occasions. Known for his warm personality, professionalism, and calm approach, Daniel takes pride in creating photographs that families will cherish for generations.

Michael Copp – Senior Photographer | Victorian Police Academy Liaison
With more than 21 years of professional photography experience, Michael Copp is a senior member of the John Travers Photography team, recognised for his technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
Before joining the team over 12 years ago, Michael worked as a newspaper photographer both internationally and across Australia, photographing news, sport, feature stories, and commercial assignments. This diverse background developed his ability to capture decisive moments with professionalism, creativity, and efficiency.
Today, Michael leads the photography operations for the Victorian Police Academy Graduations, one of John Travers Photography's longest-standing and most prestigious clients. As Senior Photographer | Victorian Police Academy Liaison, he oversees the photographic team while managing the production, printing, framing, and quality control of the Police Academy's graduation portraits, ensuring every graduate receives a finished product of the highest standard.
Michael also photographs debutante balls, school formals, youth sport, dance portraits, and major events throughout Victoria. Respected for his calm approach, reliability, and leadership, he takes pride in creating images and finished products that families and graduates will treasure for generations.
Outside the studio, Michael enjoys travelling and music, both of which continue to inspire his creative eye.
